Scottish Govtech Cluster hosts sold-out New York Tech week events
New York Tech Week is one of the worlds largest gatherings of the tech community. The Scottish Govtech Cluster organised two sold out events during this week long festival of tech entrepreneurship wich highlighted the opportunities presented by connecting Scottish and New York businesses.
Eric McAfee meets young Scottish Entrepreneurs
Silicon Valley entrepreneur, venture capitalist and philanthropist Eric McAfee spoke to packed audiences in Edinburgh and Glasgow during his September 2023 visit to Scotland. Eric spoke met with young Entrepreneurs from Edinburgh and Napier Universities as well as to business owners at a sold out Glasgow event hosted by MBN Solutions.
Scotland to Asia - building bridges
Steven Turner from Sigma Scotland met with Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, Minister of State for the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia, on his visit to Scotland.
Steven attended the meeting in his role as a Senior Advisor to the Asia Scotland Institute which does so much to encourage understanding of Asia and Scotland's strong links.They were joined by Russell Dalgliesh who is a board member of Asia Scotland Institute and the founder of the Scottish Business Network.
They held a lively discussion with the Minister with a particular focus on the huge range of opportunities, particularly in the Technology and Space sectors in India.

UK-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement
The UK and Vietnam have a strong bilateral trade relationship – with trade growing at 14% a year between 2010 and 2019 – and share a strategic commitment to global trade, and the free fow of capital and investments. The Free Trade Agreement covers £4.8 billion (2020) in trade and provides a platform to grow trade and investment.

China and Scotland
